The current research aims to identify:
1-The level of Belief bias among university students.
2- Statistically significant differences in attitudinal bias variables according to gender (male-female), major (science-humanities), and grade (second-fourth).
In order to achieve the objectives of the current research, scientific steps were followed in constructing a belief bias scale and verifying its psychometric properties of validity and reliability. The scale was applied to a sample of 356 male and female students from Al-Qadisiyah University, who were selected using random stratified sampling with proportional distribution, as follows:
- The belief bias scale for university students was constructed based on expectation theory. The scale consisted of 15 items, and the results were as follows:
1-University students have high belief bias, which is a result of society living in unusual and unstable events and circumstances.
2- There are statistically significant differences at the 0.05 significance level according to the gender variable, in favor of females.
3- There are no statistically significant differences according to the variable of major.
4- There are statistically significant differences according to the variable of grade, in favor of the second grade.
In light of these results, the researcher came up with a number of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions.
