Abstract

Poetry is an “artistic creation” through which the poet expresses what is in his soul, which made it difficult to explore its depths for those who have no knowledge of its secrets, and did not suffer from it in its details, so they said: ((The artist is only criticized by an artist, and the poet does not criticize except for the poet). There is no doubt that the poets who stand up for the appreciation of poetry and the poets' doctrines in it benefit from the sum of their linguistic, prosodic and critical culture. The poet Sheikh Jaafar al-Hilali was not far from the atmosphere of poetry and its afflictions, as the reader of his writings, and he is the poet who was described as ((a poet of abundance, poetry flows on his tongue sweet and smooth, and the rhymes are organized in his mind as a lengthy prostration)), he feels that he has, in it, observations And critical opinions on various issues of literature, and this is not a strange matter, since the poet, while organizing his poetry, is practicing the work of a literary critic, bringing his productions to a high artistic degree, and the productions of others to this degree or close to it, as the poet Sheikh Jaafar Al-Hilali was reconsidering In his poetry, and in the poetry of others, and what was said in it, to say his opinion, and prove his critical judgment.
