Abstract

Agricultural land uses are among the important studies currently, as they are exposed to random, unconsidered encroachments by communities and populations, government neglect, and the law on the other hand. In this research, the change in agricultural land uses in the city of Najaf is investigated and identified through what was stated in the basic plans and the analysis of the current reality of land uses as implemented on the ground in practice, and to find out the extent of the commitment of the municipality and the citizen to the uses specified in the structural plans in the city. Agricultural land uses occupy a spatial space adjacent to residential neighborhoods (such as Al-Askari district, Al-Muhandisin district, Al-Nasr district, Al-Mukarramah district, and Al-Rahma district, in addition to the scattered farms on the side of Al-Hawli Street on its right and left sides). These farms were distributed in the year (1982), and if we examine their chronological history We will find that their appearance varies in recent periods of time. As for the results of the research, the uses of agricultural land have a clear impact on other uses of land, as they competed with residential use and commercial use on the one hand. The uses are not present in the master plan of the city in 1990, although they are actually present on the ground.
