Abstract

Nostalgia for the past is a psychological state that emerges in the person subconsciously and is transformed into an idea. In the field of literature, this situation occurs to the person who has become depressed from the present time with various evidences, such as individual motives or the social and political conditions in the society in which he lives, so he always thinks of returning to the past and its sweet memories.

Muhammad Al-Maghout is one of the famous poets in contemporary Arabic literature and the creator of the prose poem, and he is one of the adherents of the doctrine of romanticism. Al-Maghout feels anxiety and feels sad like all other romantics, which makes him escape to nature or himself and withdraw into himself in order to search for it, so he escaped from reality and set out to the past world that always searches for his lost happiness in it. .
