Abstract

The paved road network system in Najaf governorate suffers from many problems that negatively affected its deterioration, the most important of which is the increasing pressure on it, the age of its construction, the failure to perform frequent maintenance operations on it, and the weak programmed planning by the relevant official authorities, represented by the construction of new roads that are an alternative or a complement to the current roads, that contribute In reducing traffic momentum and its negative effects, in addition to the continuous entry of large numbers of vehicles in a manner far from planning, to estimate the need required by the road network system for these vehicles.
