Abstract

Character is one of the most important narrative components in fiction. It plays a key role in embodying the idea and ideology of the novelist. The fictional character has multiple classifications, but these classifications did not take care of the idea of gender, and critics do not often consider the gender of the character in the study of the narrative. The female writer feels, thinks and creates, and her struggle to resist marginalization is no different from the struggle of any group in society. It always strives to raise its status from the margin space to the center space. This study aims, by adopting the descriptive-analytical approach, to analyze the marginal female characters in the novel "Tantouria" by Radvi Ashour, according to the views of Gayatri Spivak in the light of post-colonial theory.
