Abstract

This study, according to the descriptive-analytical method, aims to study the temporal structure in the novel The Scorpion. The study began with a detailed discussion of the critics' perceptions of the topic of time and the techniques of its formation within the narrative body, then we stopped talking about these technologies and focused on the retrieval technique and the anticipation technique as two poles of the relationship with the present in which the narrator is located. It sheds light on the type of narration used by the writer for each chapter without the other, along with analyzing the texts to understand the novel more and decipher the codes of the text.
