Abstract

The research aims to demonstrate the role of vegetation in the city of Karbala in creating a soothing local climate through its role in controlling the direct and reflected solar radiation and increasing the percentage of shading as well as controlling the winds through its reservation, leadership, bending or filtering and its ability to increase the humidity. The research included three topics The first dealt with a theoretical study of the relationship of plants to controlling the local climate in hot, dry cities, and the second dealt with the design of vegetation in hot, dry areas, focusing on trees as the most influential plant elements in creating local climates.
