The research aims to reveal the impact of the characteristics of the elements of the dry climate (desert) that prevailed during a long period of time within the fourth time (Pleistocene and Holocene) and these elements are represented by (solar radiation and temperature) within the modern climate, in increasing the effectiveness of mechanical weathering. And study the effect The effectiveness of mechanical weathering in the formation of geomorphological features.
The study relied on data on climate elements such as solar radiation and temperature for seven climatic stations (Ana, H1, Haditha, Al-Rutba, Al-Nukhaib, Al-Salman, Al-Busayyah). Look at map (1), as the study revealed the factors affecting the widening of the thermal range in the study area. These factors were represented by (the sky being clear of clouds, the absence of vegetation cover for most of the area occupied in the western plateau, and the low relative humidity).
