Abstract

The island of Sicily is one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean, which lies in the middle of it and divides it into two parts, east and west, which surrounds it on all sides except for one side in its north-east, which is the island’s head (Messini), which is separated from southern Italy by the sea passage (Strait of Messini).
2- We find in the texts of the two countries that the island of Sicily enjoys a large-scale agricultural activity that helped the quality of the island’s location, which contributed to the moderation of its climate with the abundance of irrigation sources, the presence of fertile soil, and the diversity in the terrain of mountains, plateaus and flat plains, which were exploited by the people of Sicily in agriculture Various crops that are compatible with the terrain.
