Abstract

The phenomenon of salinity is one of the most serious problems facing irrigated soils in arid and semi-arid regions, threatening the main source of agricultural crop production in them. Research in general on the natural and human geographical factors affecting the salinization of the soils of the district preceded by a historical background on salinity and determining the quantity and quality of salts and clarifying their impact on plants and soils and ways to reduce them.
Soil salinization is the process of collecting salts on the soil and turning the lands into desertified areas with poor characteristics.
