Abstract

Abbasid literature is the important time period in Arabic literature in terms of the meanings and innovations that were manifested in it, and a group of poets appeared who relied on the art of humor and irony to clarify the features of their time period; Satire is one of the important poets' methods for communicating the critic about the temporal conditions at the time. And satire in Arabic literature has gained its share among critics and historians, so a class of poets appeared interested in humorous texts to communicate their political, social, and ideological purposes until it became an object for itself and has its own audience; The recipient of this field looks at the folds of irony with harsh criticism through the text, just as many people look at humor and irony with a look of disdain and contempt, due to the limited understanding of these two techniques. They see them as useless and worthless. And since we know that each text has a function and aesthetics, we sought to address the literature of Abu Dalama from the point of view of the formalists, to show the aesthetics of irony in the literature of Abi Dalama, relying on the descriptive-analytical poetic approach based on the poet’s divan
