The image reflected on transparent surfaces occupies a central place in the novel "The Beloved", as this image raises several problems in the text. In this research, we will discuss the impact of the image in all its aspects on the personality of the heroine. The main problem that we analyzed is that the main character does not see his image reflected on the reflective surfaces. So we conclude that there is a lack of recognition of the ego by the character of the novel. On the other hand, this article deals with the repetition of forms of identity and their merger with the other. Therefore, the image of the heroine is merged with several characters who may be close or strange to her. We have also concluded that the self-destruction of the heroine of the novel results from childhood disorders and her upbringing in an unbalanced family.
