Abstract

This paper aims to clarify the concept of smart universities and the most important activities associated with them, identify the most important risks that can face the activities of smart universities, clarify the role of control as a major tool in reducing risks facing smart universities, and provide an algorithm for applying control in order to reduce the risks of smart universities in light of the digital economy. The researchers reached many conclusions, the most important of which is that the activities of smart universities are affected by various factors that can cause certain risks, as new challenges and threats appear that can cause great damage to the performance of smart universities in the light of the digital economy. This situation requires the employment of control in order to reduce those threats and risks, Finally, the researchers recommended the need to use the principles, stages and proposed algorithm to establish control in order to reduce risks in the smart university at the level of a separate smart structural unit and in the smart university as a whole, in addition to the need to develop risk assessment criteria taking into account the specifics of the activities of the smart university as well as improving methodological tools for managing typical risks for the smart environment.
