Abstract

 :
Although Iraq has great economic potential in the fields of energy and food, there are many challenges represented by the complex restriction and its repercussions on the economy, especially in light of the absence of a real will to develop the various fields of energy and food in a way that ensures energy and food security, and then the immediate economic damage it has caused. The heavy reliance on the export of oil in its crude form, and thus the major shortage in the supply of electrical energy and petroleum products, their import and loss, and gas, in addition to the food shortage and lack of security, which has harmed the economy. Iraq’s absolute dependence on the production and export of crude oil, the loss of the added value resulting from its refining, and its absolute dependence on trade Foreign affairs import most of the goods and most of the services necessary to meet consumer needs, especially the increasing import of agricultural goods, especially food. All of this contributed to the loss of its economic security, as the economic changes have not yet led to the creation of a productive structure capable of supporting and advancing the economy.
