Adopting the SWOT analysis in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology as a basis for preparing strategic plans to improve the educational process in accordance with the vision of national programmatic and institutional accreditation.

Abstract

An up-to-date SWOT analysis and subsequent development of the strategic plan of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology is presented. The SWOT analysis is based on internal self-evaluation and a number of questionnaires conducted to determine the viewpoints of various groups (Appendix 1). The strategic objectives are developed into strategies and actions to address weaknesses and threats by effectively taking advantage of strengths and opportunities. An operational plan is currently being developed that includes Specific procedures, a timeline for relevant activities, those responsible for implementing them, the resources required, as well as success metrics to determine the level of achievement.
