The primary objective of this research is to examine the impact of proactive work behavior (the independent variable) on work-life balance (the dependent variable). This study is based on a survey of a sample of faculty members holding academic titles in public universities within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, encompassing (16) universities. The questionnaire was distributed to them via Google Forms, utilizing a seven-point Likert scale. The independent variable, proactive work behavior, was measured through four sub-dimensions: (taking responsibility, employee voice, individual innovation, and problem prevention). The dependent variable, work-life balance, was measured through three sub-dimensions: (satisfaction balance, involvement balance, and time balance). The total population size was (11,022) faculty members, with a sample of (388) respondents. To derive the results, an analytical descriptive approach was employed using SPSS (Version 27). The researchers reached several conclusions, the most significant of which is that an increase in proactive work behavior is associated with greater work-life balance among the faculty members.
