في 31 ديسمبر 2019 ، تلقت منظمة الصحة العالمية معلومات من لجنة الصحة الوطنية بشأن تفشي فايروس كوفيد-19الذي حددته السلطات الصينية. للأسف ، يبدو أن منظمة الصحة العالمية اعتمدت إلى حد كبير في توجيهاتها وتعليماتها على ما تقدمه او تعلنه السلطات الصينية. وبالتالي ، تم تبني استراتيجيات إيجابية وسلبية في التعامل مع هذا الوباء. وقد سبب هذا الامر قدرًا كبيرًا من الخوف والارتباك عند الناس حول العالم على الرغم من كل الجهود الكبيرة التي تبذلها منظمة الصحة العالمية لاجتياز هذه الفترة المصيرية بنجاح وأمان. تعد الدراسة الحالية واحدة من أولى الدراسات التي تسعى إلى تقديم تحليل خطاب نقدي ووصف وتفسير للفئات الايديولوجية المستخدمة في الخطاب المؤسسي ، وبشكل أكثر تحديدًا منظمة الصحة العالمية بشأن Covid-19 باستخدام نموذج Van Dijk ثلاثي الأبعاد للأيديولوجيا (2004).
لقد وجدت الدراسة أن منظمة الصحة العالمية تركز على فئات أيديولوجية معينة مثل التكرار ، ووصف الفاعل ، والسلطة ، والمبالغة ، والعبء ، والأدلة ، والأرقام أكثر من الفئات الأخرى. وجد أيضًا أن هذه الفئات الأيديولوجية يجب أن تستند إلى وجهات نظر علمية ونفسية ومعرفية واجتماعية وثقافية وليس فقط الأرقام والسلطة والمبالغة وما إلى ذلك لأنها تُستخدم لإقناع أشخاص مختلفين حول العالم بثقافات مختلفة وهم قد تؤثر فعليا على حياتهم بشكل إيجابي أو سلبي.
