يبدو أن هناك معرفة محدودة فقط بالكُتّاب الأدبيين من مالاوي. ومع ذلك، يتناول هذا البحث عددًا من القصائد المختارة من ذلك البلد. ويهدف هذا البحث إلى توعية القرّاء بالأوضاع الإنسانية في تلك المنطقة من العالم كما تنعكس في قصائد مختارة لجاك مابانجي، وإديسون مبينا، وديفيد روباديري. وقد تم اختيار هؤلاء الكُتّاب عمدًا نظرًا لاهتمامهم بالتقدم الاجتماعي. وقد تم اعتماد تحليل المحتوى كمنهجية، كما تم استخدام المنظور الأدبي السوسيولوجي كإطار مفاهيمي. وتكشف النتائج أن القصائد المختارة تمثل هجاءً اجتماعيًا وسياسيًا للفترة التي تلت الاستعمار في مالاوي، حيث يدعو الشعراء إلى الحُكم الرشيد.
