The reality of renewable energy, problems and challenges of renewable energy productionAbstract
The research aims to identify the reality of renewable energy in Iraq, as well as to identify the most important challenges and problems of renewable energy production in Iraq. The research included two sections, the first of which is the reality of renewable energy in Iraq. The types of renewable energy sources in Iraq were discussed, including hydroelectric energy and Wind, solar, and biomass energy. The second is the problems and challenges of renewable energy production in Iraq. One of the most important findings of the research is that although Iraq enjoys great wealth in renewable energy types, it still relies heavily on fossil fuels, in addition to the fact that the production of Renewable energy is limited to hydroelectric energy only, as there are no large investments in other renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic energy, wind energy, and biomass energy. As for the most important recommendations, it is the necessity of moving seriously towards renewable energy sources to adopt them as a substitute source to meet local energy needs, as well as the need We must seriously resort to a clean energy source to protect the environment from pollution. It is also necessary to increase investments in the field of renewable energy in order to develop and benefit from it, as it represents a guarantee of security of supply and achieving a sustainable balance.
