Abstraction in artistic scenes executed on Mesopotamian pottery during prehistoric times

This research deals with an important topic revolving around abstraction in ancient Mesopotamian art (i.e. simplification and reduction) in artistic scenes executed on pottery during prehistoric times. Abstraction is the oldest of the human art methods, linking art with magic and religion. Abstract forms, by stripping them of all that are natural, become free, and possess an inner energy emanating from spiritual sources.
Pottery was one of those arts that embodied and immortalized some of the details of life in Mesopotamia, taking the abstract method as a basis for the formulation of its scenes, and due to the large number of pottery discovered in various ancient Iraqi sites and in all ages and the accuracy of the details represented on it and the diversity of its topics and multiple scenes through which it was possible to paint a clear picture of life The religious and civil rights of the people of Mesopotamia, with all the details it contains. The research aims to shed light on the oldest methods of human art known as the abstract style. By tracing its origin and development through the ages.
