Geometric decorations in pottery of the ancient Babylonian era - Tell Abu Antic as an example

Recent archaeological studies on pottery from Mesopotamia showed that the geometric decoration executed on pottery of the Babylonian era is an extension of previous periods in which it expressed inherited religious and artistic contents that were used to express what is going on in the mind of the artist of all kinds. Geometric shapes, including triangles, squares, and rhombuses, as well as broken lines. These forms are executed in colors extracted from natural and chemical sources, including black, red and greenish-brown, The artist excelled in choosing the basic material represented by clay and the materials added to it for the purpose of strengthening, making it a more cohesive material and able to show the artistic aesthetic and malleability in the stage of its manufacture on a rapidly spinning wheel and the stage of pride, the method of formation and coloring, and the accuracy of the decoration executed on the surfaces of the pottery vessels, and that this The decorations were commensurate with the shape and size of the utensils, their uses, and the historical stage to which they belong.
