Libraries and archives in Mesopotamian civilization in light of archaeological data

The emergence of libraries and their archives in Mesopotamia contributed to the development of cognitive capabilities in many fields, including sciences, languages, mathematics, astronomy, and other knowledge. The study of libraries and their archives is of great importance by identifying the merits of the educational system of Mesopotamia in its early infancy, as scribes contributed in every aspect. Among the aspects of life in which writing was used, there were official (administrative) and private scribes, writers, schoklars, and others. Archaeological excavations resulted in the presence of many libraries in the ancient cities of Mesopotamia, including the library of Spar, Kish, and Uruk. They arose and developed first inside the temples, then they began to be established in independent buildings. The second millennium of the history of Mesopotamian civilization was chosen to study the first roots of the emergence of libraries and educational and administrative institutions in Mesopotamia, and the narrative and investigative approach was followed in presenting the study material.
