The research is aimed at exploring how New York Times and New York Post dealt with the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani and General Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis near Baghdad International Airport in the so-called "the airport incident".
The research has reached several results from which are that both newspapers dealt with the airport incident from American interest and American national security point of view without any regard for Iraq's sovereignty and security. The political leaning of both newspapers was prominent in their support or opposition to the operation.
