There are many influential factors that have enabled the city of Najaf to flourish literary and poetic prominence, gaining a distinguished position in Arabic literature in general, and Iraqi literature in particular. The religious rituals in Najaf during the months of Ramadan, Hajj, and Muharram, and the performance of these rituals by the Najaf community, have made the city a center of literary and cultural influence. The research was divided into two sections. The first addressed the religious influences on the poetry of Muhammad Hussein al-Saghir, while the second addressed the social influences on the poetry of Muhammad Hussein al-Saghir.
