The role of sustainable Leadership in Enhancing banking performance

Purpose: The current study sought to diagnose and test the relationship between sustainable leadership and banking performance, reveal the nature of the relationship between these two variables and present some proposals to the surveyed banks in order to enhance their performance in the long term.
Design/methodology/approach: The study relied on the exploratory and descriptive analytical approach in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. The questionnaire was relied upon as a main tool in collecting data for a sample of (147) employees in private banks in the Middle Euphrates region. Some statistical methods were used (SPSS V. 26,SmartPLS v.3.3.2) In analyzing the data of the study and testing its hypotheses..
Findings: The results of the study showed that there is a real role for sustainable leadership in enhancing banking performance, and this is what was inferred through the hypotheses that have been proven in the applied side of the study, in the presence of a significant correlation between sustainable leadership and banking performance, and this means that whenever banks focus on Achieving the requirements of sustainable driving, this would enhance its performance in the long run.
Research limitations/implications:The study faced many obstacles, including the difficulty of the study community responding to filling out the questionnaire, which caused confusion to the researcher in obtaining highly accurate results.
Practical implications: The study presented a set of recommendations, most notably the need for the study sample banks to conduct educational courses and educational seminars that show the importance of sustainable leadership and clarify the new global trend towards achieving sustainability and development in all fields, including banks, and confirming the role that sustainable leadership plays in business continuity by achieving strong business relationships The ability to retain talented employees as well as social responsibility practices.
Originality/value: The study attempts to bridge the knowledge gap by finding the logical relationship between its variables of sustainable leadership and banking performance.
