Abdulaziz Al-Makki responded to the Al-Jahmiyyah suspicion regarding the issue of the creation of the Qur’an through his book Al-Haydah.

Abstract

There is no doubt that belief is the foundation and pillar of religion, as it is the one for which the Messenger was sent.  Because God Almighty created His servants to worship Him and believe in Him, and among them is belief in the names and attributes of God that are mentioned in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace be upon him, and the Companions did not differ regarding them.  Because the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, explained to them what was problematic for them, and after them a group of non-Arabs came who denied the attributes and names of God and said that the Qur’an was created and denied the word of God. The scholars of the Salaf, may God have mercy on them, responded to them and explained their ignorance and scheming, and confirmed what God Almighty and His Messenger, may God have mercy on them, had proven.

This study aims at the efforts of Abdulaziz Al-Makki, one of the Shafi’i scholars, as he defended the Islamic faith by proving the attributes and names of God, denying the creation of the Qur’an, and invalidating the suspicion of Jahmism, especially in his book Al-Haydah.  He mentioned a summary of the life of Abdulaziz Al-Makki and proved the book’s attribution to him, and addressed two suspicions of Bishr Al-Mursi, which are the brevity of the meaning of “made” with (created), and the interpretation of the thing in the words of God Almighty: {God is the Creator of all things,” where he included the Qur’an in this generality like other creatures, and Abdulaziz’s answer.  Al-Makki gave a detailed answer to the two suspicions.
