Contemporary Ethics: Between Determinism, Independence, and Rigor

Abstract

In this research, we tried to answer questions imposed by the research context, in terms of asking about the strictness of morals and how to impose this moral strictness in its societal form or in its legal form or by self-obligation as stemming from conscience before it is imposed as a moral system in different forms, to which the individual and society may submit, under the threat of legislation, laws and general principles.

In the first requirement, we talked about freedom and moral inevitability that results from this obligation, which is met with a penalty, whether legal, social or even personal, when the individual punishes himself by suicide, strike or any such act that a person turns against himself.

The second requirement came in our talk about independence and moral obligation, do they conflict or agree in terms of the desire stemming from conscience to adapt to general moral laws and controls.

The third requirement was about the question of ethics and its supposed strictness, whether subjectively or objectively, due to the religious, social, or rational factor, or due to the law, and each of these factors deals internally with ethics with its binding strictness according to the system that it produces for itself and its moral personality.
