The Iconic Project emerges in the field of high technology, which is concerned with the modern technical reading of the Qur’anic text and the Arab-Islamic heritage as a whole. This project, after completing the expansion of historical critical research to include the Holy Qur’an, after it had only included the Torah and the Bible, is because Arkoun is keen on comparison between the three religious systems, to discover the mechanisms of what he calls the prophetic discourse in forming meaning.
One of the most important results of the Arkoubian studies is the claim that revelation is human, through the application of some modern security methods to the Qur’anic texts. Arkoun was distinguished by his use of multiple methods in one issue, and this is what the readers see, and perhaps he is intentional in doing so.
