The Impact of Financial Discipline on Banking Sustainability: An Exploratory Study of a Sample of Iraqi Private Banks

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and test the relationship between financial discipline and financial sustainability in private Iraqi banks. The study seeks to understand how financial discipline impacts the achievement of financial sustainability in these banks.Study Design:

This study utilized both descriptive and analytical methodologies, selecting a sample of 27 private Iraqi banks. Data were collected through the distribution of 161 questionnaires to a sample of bank employees, including bank managers, their deputies, department heads, and experienced employees. A total of 131 responses were received from private Iraqi banks in the governorates of Najaf and Maysan. The questionnaire included a series of questions designed to measure the level of financial discipline and the extent of achieving financial sustainability.

The study's findings revealed that financial discipline positively influences financial sustainability in private Iraqi banks.
