Abstract:
The study aims to reveal the extent of the impact of religious tourism on the urban development of the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, as the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala are among the most important religious and historical cities in Iraq. The region, including commercial and service activities, and there is a clear overlap between the religious function and the commercial function in the commercial center of the city, and the two ancient cities of Najaf and Karbala are the commercial heart of the city because of their active economic and commercial role.
