The study of personalities has taken an important place in the field of historical studies, because the personalities have a great role in making the historical event. The character of Eleanor Roosevelt had a great role in American history, as she held the position of first lady for the longest period in American history, from 1933 to 1945. She had an active role in human rights and the global peace movement, so she was elected to the position of chairperson of the committee drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
