Lebanon witnessed - during less than half a century of its independence - more than a severe political crisis, embodied in a clear schism in the body of Lebanese society. Some of these crises have developed under certain regional and international conditions in the Middle East into a semi-civil war, as happened in 1958, and one of them developed into an actual civil war, such as the one that erupted in 1975, in which the Lebanese have suffered many of its woes and tragedies, and they are still suffering to this day. It is counterproductive on more than one side.
To study Lebanon, from the point of view of contemporary geopolitics, a very important topic, given the geopolitical importance of this small Arab country to the Middle East region in particular, and the Arab world in general. It owns an important geostrategic location, adjacent to the Palestinian territories.
