The sociology of the spatial context in the variation of the discourse of political participation a field study in Karbala Governorate

Abstract

The study wonders about the subject of the discourse of political participation in the context of the variation of its spatial levels in the province of Karbala, and since the place is the product of the interaction of groups, forming a social, political, economic and cultural space, this place also has daily discourses that form it in divisive and/or consensual ways, but it does not depart from the context of (rank trade-off), which requires us, to question the meaning of these discourses? What is its relationship to shaping levels of political participation discourse in their spatial contexts within Karbala province? Do these discourses play a role in determining the spatial context for varying levels of participation such as election, party loyalty, protest and political criticism, on social media? Which makes us understand the origin of the question: why this disparity? Therefore, we need to depend according to scientific logic, to determine a study sample from a research community represented in Karbala province according to the place of residence and gender identity, and then choose a sample randomly cluster amounting to (300) units. The study concluded several conclusions, in its introduction, that discourses as a daily practice, such as: popular discourse, tribal discourse, and religious-sectarian discourse, affect unevenly within their contexts the attitudes of individuals towards the priority levels of political participation discourse.
