Abstract

    One of the well-known styles of Arab in the arts of poetry and prose is that of pun which is considered on of the ways the Arabic use in composition and signification. Its linguistic meaning is to pun a person something and answer it. Technically, it means telling a speech that has two meanings at the same time, one is clear and apparent, while the other is hidden, needed to be interpreted and revealed by the listener or the reader. At the present time. In the research, we dealt with it linguistically and technically, then discussed its appearance to the Arab, and its kinds and ways. We also talked about reasons of its appearance and the rhetoricians' attitude towards it, they distributed among supporter and objector. The research ended explaining its effect on the linguistic lesson development.
