The Iraqi agricultural sector is gaining great importance among other economic sectors, and this sector still faces several challenges in the field of its tasks of providing food to members of society, and the incompatibility of the seasonality of production with the optimal import periods. Which makes vertical expansion one of the necessary means to develop this sector, and the trend towards the protected agriculture system, as one of the means of agricultural intensification. The research aims to calculate the costs and marketing margins of some summer vegetable crops under the protected agriculture system in Baghdad Governorate. The estimated results indicated that the total marketing costs for tomato, cucumber, and pepper crops amounted to about 13,508,880, 13,376,440, and 13,244,000 Iraqi dinars for each crop, respectively, and the marketing efficiency of those three crops reached about 79%, 78%, and 76%, respectively.
