The role of innovation in meeting the development requirements of the Iraqi economy: reality and proposals

In light of the great technological developments that the world has witnessed, Iraq did not take the opportunity to contribute to these developments, nor did it have any role in most of the modern inventions and innovations, nor was it able to benefit from them in improving the life of society in it or in developing the country, despite the availability of... Large numbers of Iraqis hold advanced degrees in various fields and sciences. This research aims to study how to use the element of innovation in confronting the problems that the Iraqi economy suffers from. By diagnosing the challenges and then trying to draw future proposals to achieve that goal and to serve the real requirements of the economy. The research reached the following conclusions: The components of the innovation element were difficult to adapt to serve the Iraqi economy due to the complex political and economic conditions that the country was exposed to during various stages of the history of its development path, and therefore innovation did not contribute effectively and significantly to confronting the economic problems in the country
