Employing talent management to enhance professional skills: an analytical study of the opinions of a sample of workers at the University of Kufa

The study objective to identify talent management through its dimensions (attracting talent, nurturing talent, diversity, and workplace environment) as an explanatory variable, and professional skills as a responsive variable. The field of study was the presidency of the University of Kufa. The study population consisted of employees of some university departments. The study sample was a random sample. The questionnaire was distributed and (87) valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis. The research included two main hypotheses to test the relationship of correlation and influence between the variables of the study. The results were extracted using the statistical program (SPSS) and (Smart PLS), and the study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which was that attracting talent is a continuous and integrated process with skills and requires a strategic direction that documents this process as well as commitment and effective communication between university departments in order to attract the best. The research came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which was the necessity of relying on a team of specialists and trainers within the university for the purpose of identifying the talents and skills required and working to develop them.
