Forecasting based on solid mathematical methods is the basis of planning, and the relevant authorities’ reliance on guesswork according to the researcher’s knowledge leads to a lack of confidence in predictive accuracy and the emergence of problems when implementing plans in the future, which is accompanied by negative repercussions represented by the waste of time and money and the lack of optimal use of human resources, and thus the loss of the implemented project. Or implementing it in a way that does not meet the ambition. The aim of the research is to estimate the geometric distribution equation using the ordinary least squares method and the Liu parametric estimators method, and to determine the optimal method and use it in predicting the numbers of secondary students in the Najaf Governorate for the period of time (2025-2030) by adopting extended time series data ( (2005-2022) AD.
