The impact of electronic money on the Central Bank’s management of monetary policy in Iraq for the period (2010-2023

The research aims to demonstrate the extent of the ability of electronic money to effectively influence the indirect tools of monetary policy in Iraq for the period (2010-2023), the discount rate, cash reserves, open market operations. After explaining the most important problems that Iraqi monetary policy suffers from, which are the inability of electronic money to influence monetary policy tools, and the weakness of dealing with electronic payment methods, not to mention the weakness of the infrastructure related to it. The research concluded with the conclusion that (the role of electronic money in the performance and effectiveness of the central bank’s policy in Iraq monetary is almost limited, relative, and in the process of modern experimentation, due to the spread of financial corruption, weak infrastructure, and the public’s lack of confidence in the Iraqi banking sector despite the development in the sustainability of electronic payment methods and their positive impact on electronic money and indirect tools of monetary policy
