Enlightened Leadership and its Role in Improving the Quality of Work Life through the Mediating Role of Psychological Capital
An Analytical Study of the Opinions of Heads of Scientific Departments at the University of Salahaddin in Erbil Governorate/ Kurdistan Region-Iraq

The current research aims to study the impact of enlightened leadership represented by (role model behavior, developmental behavior, service behavior, change behavior, communicative behavior, and visionary behavior), in improving the quality of work life. and to test the mediating role of psychological capital, represented by (self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and flexibility), as an indirect variable in the influential relationship between the two variables, from the point of view of heads of scientific departments at the University of Salahaddin in Erbil Governorate/ Kurdistan Region- Iraq. The descriptive analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was adopted as a tool for collecting data from a sample of (60) heads of scientific departments at the university. The research hypotheses were tested using )SPSS Version 25(. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which is that psychological capital plays an important mediating role in enhancing the impact of enlightened leadership on the quality of work life. This indicates that improving employees' psychological capital can increase the effectiveness of enlightened leadership in improving the work environment and the quality of professional life. Accordingly, to improve the quality of work life at the University of Salahaddin, it is suggested that it is necessary to enhance the psychological capital of employees through training and development programs, which enhances the effectiveness of enlightened leadership and promotes work-life balance, thus improving overall performance and job satisfaction.
