The news published in the written media about political figures is often purposeful and influenced by the intellectual orientation of the producers of texts. Representing political figures is done so that a certain mental image of them plays in the audience minds. Producers of such texts are connected with the sources of power and express their ideology in the context of the text implicitly or explicitly. The ideologies presented in such texts can be discerned using the critical discourse analysis model and questioning their natural and legitimate nature.
The result of the article showed that the death of Shimon Peres is an ideological issue, and most newspapers have exercised power in using this discourse. Discursive elements, power generation tools, and the factors relevant to the news in the newspapers are as follows: "Citation and Referral", "Valuation", "Role playing", "Highlighting", "Reducing", "Argumentation".
