The Old Testament tackled the awaiting and the Awaited dogmas in many texts. Metonymy was the basic expressive term for the Awaited as will be established later headings. It is worth mentioning that the Jewish heritage stressed this dogma and described the Awaited and tried to apply these descriptions to many personalities as cited in recent literature of sources. Yet, these descriptions are not fully identical to any personality and the prophesies of the Bible have not come true. These prophesies to date are not consistent to the Jewish aspirations according to the descriptions of the Awaited in the Old Testament.
The current study aims at the Hebrew meaning of the Awaited in the Old Testament, the expressions for his qualities in the Torah texts, and their rhetorical and grammatical analysis. The following topics are treated in the study:
First: The Hebrew meaning of the Awaited
Second: The promise and good tidings of the Awaited in the Old Testament
Third: The style of expressing the Awaited in the Old Testament
by mentioning his qualities.
