The Iraqi pilgrimage convoy and its impact on activating trade between Iraq and the Hijaz in the Ottoman era

The Iraqi land pilgrimage route since the era before Islam was used as a trade route between two Arab metropolises, Kufa and Hijaz, and in the eras that followed it was used for pilgrimage to Mecca, where they set up stations for rest and accommodation for pilgrims in addition to digging wells to supply water, and in the Ottoman era in addition to its religious importance as a pilgrimage route used in the economic aspect, as some pilgrims who go to the Holy Land were merchants and take with them their goods to trade in them on the road and in Najd and Hijaz, Most of their trade was carried out with the inhabitants of Hail, especially during the era of Al-Rashid family.
