The Role Strategic Leadership in The Governance of Water Resources: an exploratory study in the Directorate of Water Resources in Najaf

The main objective of this study is to diagnose the role played by strategic leadership in its dimensions (determining the strategic direction, investing strategic capabilities and talents, developing human capital, maintaining an effective organizational culture, emphasizing ethical practices, and implementing balanced organizational control) in achieving good corporate governance. Water resources in its dimensions (strengthening, trust and participation, enhancing the effectiveness of water governance, enhancing the efficiency of water governance, legal frameworks). The study was conducted in the Directorate of Water Resources in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, and the study was applied to a sample of (250) employees. In order to process the data, a set of statistical methods were used to analyze the collected and processed data using the SPSS program and the AMOS program. Among these methods (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient Pearson correlation coefficient, simple linear regression coefficient, multiple linear regression test of variance). The study reached a set of results that coincided in their entirety with the hypotheses of the research, the most important of which is the interest of the research directorate in all variables and dimensions of the study, the presence of significant correlations between the research variables and their sub-dimensions, and the existence of a moderate correlation between strategic leadership and governance of water resources.
