Abstract

This research studies the subject of disguise in the Umayyad era and specifically its motive, as it is one of the methods that were relied upon by a number of men in power and the opposition - alike - because it represented the only way to achieve goals that are hard to reach by appearing and moving in the real way because this is associated with the failure of the measure, so we read that success Disguise requires a different nature in terms of changing the appearance, clothing, place and name - sometimes - and even disguising itself in the form of a woman's dress - if necessary - it should be noted that the research presents different motives for disguise, and reveals many goals that the disguised person aspires to, including self-escaping, feeling the pulse, and depositing Awe in souls, achieving victory and conquest, doing good without mirrors, meeting the beloved and others
