The research dealt with a phonetic term used by grammarians when they classify the sounds of the Arabic language, which is the term (mixing), and the research was concerned with defining the concept of this term, the limits of its use, and clarifying the manifestations of intoxication. last and produce a third sound that is similar to the first two. In the light of tracing the use of the term in the grammatical code, it was found that the term blending went through stagesSibawayh, the founder of the use of the term, represented the first stage, and he had it to denote the sounds that were mixed with a soot, or something similar to puffing, and the sounds that were not mixed with neither soot nor puff. While other grammarians represented the second stage, and in their use they did not increase Sibawayh's use of the term except to expand by mentioning some of its manifestations. Which can be summed up in three manifestations, namely: vocal mixing, blowing mixing, and structural mixing, and it is not correct to count a fourth type of mixing, which is pulmonary or psychological mixing.
