mmodesty in universities: its rulings, causes and treatment

in light of the Holy Quran and Islamic jurisprudence

Abstract

The subject of this research is the adornment in universities، its reasons، its results and its treatment according to Holly Quran and doctrinal writings of Muslims.

    The research is divided into four chapters: -

  First chapter is about the meaning of adornment; which means showing what is not allowed from body or adding something to the body and the forms of adornment are adornment by clothes or makiage of discovering the hair or the eloquences by voice or dressing the trappings or making some movements during walking

  Second chapter is about the style of Holy Quran in showing this phenomenon and its treatment، and this can be express in seven stages:

• To end this phenomenon and its reasons by cast down the eyes.
• Treat reasons of looking، which is no adornment.
• Order by mantle.
• Stop the movements that incite the instincts.
• Stop the exciting by smooth voice.
• The step of torpor in the house except case of emergency or to the work.
• The step of specifying the type of clothes and its philosophy.

  Third chapter is about the position of Muslim jurists about this phenomenon. There are three opinions and they are: -

• The right of woman in display face، hands and feet.
• Display face and hands only.
• Prevent display anything of her body.

  Fourth chapter is about the reasons of adornment in universities and can be limited in four reasons. The reasons are: -

• The slackness in applying the university uniform.
• Weakness of religious motif.
• Free times.
• The weakness of the control of the family.

 And I finished my research by results and recommendations
