Free poetry in the standard of criticism

This research delves into the study of free verse, which constituted a major phenomenon in Arabic poetry, and major "precursors" led to its emergence, including the mixing of Arabs with the West, poets' despair of ruling regimes, and the burdening of ancient poetry with no longer required content such as praise and satire. Free verse was accompanied by ambiguity that produced confusion in naming it between free verse, free verse, or free verse poem, then poets settled on verse with a meter without rhyme. "Recycling" constituted a clear phenomenon in this poetry that indicates continuity, and ends a critical issue that was prevalent in Arabic poetry, which is the issue of inclusion, which is considered a weakness in the poet who completes his verse in the next verse! Because free verse is limited to the poetic line based on the metrical foot, it sacrificed the meters with mixed metrical feet and kept the meters with pure metrical feet by virtue of the poetic line that obliged the poet to adhere to the pure metrical foot. The research yielded important results, including that free verse presented new content that was not present in traditional poetry.
