Abstract

The semiotic significance of metaphor in (conceptual) art,The current research is a study in The semiotic significance of metaphor in (conceptual) art Especially when it is associated with semiotics and interpretatio, to produce several meanings and functions, and the artist  has employed metaphor in his pictorial surface, as a visual discourse that has an impact on the recipient, or the addressee, making him immerse in those meanings that he carries, to make an impact on the souls of the recipient and in terms of change .and addressing the recipient to interact with the course of the world and the common destiny. Contemporary artists deliberately used various methods and means, including visual and performance, to stimulate people's minds and direct them to take serious positions in front of political measures and unjust rights by presenting the idea of fine political discourse as a tool of criticism, and confronting the direction of political events. And at all local and global levels.The first chapter contains 1- the problem of the research, 2- the importance of the research and the need for it, 3- the aim of the research. 4- definition of terms. As for the second chapter, the theoretical framework, it contained two chapters: The first was represented in: (the artistic image and the production of meaning, and the second chapter: Semiotic connotations in conceptual art. The third chapter included the research procedures, then the fourth chapter included the research results, proposals and recommendations. It also included Research on sources and margins.
